Apprenticeship Program Description

There are a lot of barriers to breaking into the music business. Those who dream of an entry-level opportunity may be up against geographic obstacles; internships or starter-job positions that don’t align with their age group or carry financial limitations for taking on an internship. Whether you’re a college student seeking your first-ever apprenticeship, or you’re a seasoned veteran in your field seeking a career change, the Crowd Surf Apprenticeship Program welcomes music-lovers of all walks-of-life to apply.

Each trimester, we welcome four apprentices to join our teams in Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville and one remote position.

Job Summary

Our Apprenticeship Program will take you behind the scenes where you will learn about marketing strategy, digital initiatives and content creation surrounding some of your favorite artists as well as an understanding of the music industry in a real-time setting. A day in the life of an apprentice at Crowd Surf can include submitting creative ideas for an album release, creating and editing video assets, analyzing data and metrics or even being on site at a music video shoot. No matter how big or small the task is, your part matters. If you’re looking to build a new skill set or continue on your journey into the music industry we may be the right fit for you!

Responsibilities May Include

  • Working alongside marketing teams on creative projects surrounding music releases, tour and ticket sales, artist merchandise, special events and partnerships. Tasks may include:
    • Contributing to the development of projects by conducting research
    • Creating various assets and animations for social media platforms
    • Copywriting for social media posts + various marketing needs
    • Coordinating engagement with fans on social media
    • Brainstorming concepts for new projects
    • Active participation in marketing meetings and company-wide updates

Qualifications

  • Excitement for social media, pop culture, and the music industry
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a “can-do” attitude
  • Proven strong organizational, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite; including but not limited to Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc. 
  • Ability to commit to a set schedule in relation to company office hours
  • Ability to remain professional and be discrete with confidential information

Music-lovers 18-years and older are welcome and encouraged to apply.

No! We do offer college credit if desired, but it is not a requirement to be considered for a role.

We host four apprentices each trimester:

Spring Program: January- April

Summer Program: May- August

Fall Program: September – December

Yes! Apprentices are paid $12-$17/hour, depending on location. 
 

We ask that apprentices are able to commit to at least 3 days per week with a minimum of 4 hours per day.

Our Los Angeles, New York City, and Nashville offices operate in a hybrid environment. This may include working from home or joining your team in the office or at an on-site event with our clients. Remote position will not be required to travel and can work from home.
