“Gimmie That Girl” Moves To The Top Of The Charts

Nashville, TN April 26, 2010 — Show Dog – Universal Music artist Joe Nichols tops the charts this week with his single “Gimmie That Girl.” This latest #1 hit gives the artist his fourth #1 chart topper and his eighth Top 10 record. The song is included on Nichols’ critically acclaimed CD Old Things New.
“The Lord has blessed me more than I deserve,” Nichols said. “I’m so happy to have my team and to have the staff of Show Dog – Universal on my side. And I’m proud to have so many great friends at country radio who believe in what I do – thanks to all of them. And the very best thing about this song is it connects with the country fans, and that’s all I could ever ask for, as they are the reason I do this.”
“I’m so happy for Joe, Rick Moxley and his team, as well as the entire staff at Show Dog-Universal Music for our first # 1 record together,” said Mark Wright, President, Show Dog – Universal Music. “Also I want to congratulate the writers and publishers and thank them for giving us this big ol’ hit song.”
Sales have also been strong for this song, with a weekly average of nearly 30,000 sold, and about to cross the 300,000 total mark, with no signs of slowing. The song is a mainstay in the top Five of the iTunes sales chart.
Nichols kicked off his tour in March and will be on the road through the balance of 2010. For additional information on the artist, please visit joenichols.com.
